CENTRE FOR MULTICULTURALISM (CMSS)
Centre for Multiculturalism and Settlement Services (CMSS) provides critical support for marginalized communities and newcomers to Canada. We offer a wide range of community-centred programs to facilitate the integration of immigrants and newcomers into the Canadian Society.
​Our aim is to address the structural challenges marginalized and vulnerable demographic groups i.e. Black youth, immigrants, and newcomers encounter in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
OUR SERVICES
SETTLEMENT
CMSS provides critical support for newcomers to secure employment opportunities suitable to their skills and experiences.
We provide culturally responsive hands on trainings, workshops and seminars to enhance your leadership and communication skills.
MENTAL HEALTH AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT

In collaboration with other community serving agencies, CMSS provides culturally appropriate mental health support for vulnerable children, youth and their communities to cope with daily pressures and life demands.

PATHWAY TO POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS
Using culturally responsive hands-on trainings, professional networking and mentorship programs, we empower vulnerable youth, immigrants, newcomers, and marginalized communities to join post-secondary institutions to pursue their academic and professional goals.
REFUGE EDUCATION
Cognizant of the challenges refugees, immigrants and displaced communities encounter in accessing learning opportunities, we provide holistic support to address the gaps and challenges created by conflicts and crisis.
Using holistic education approach, we design programs to enhance students’ physical, psychosocial and emotional intelligence. We firmly believe that through play-based learning strategy, students can heal from traumatic and psychological wounds. Further, it fosters positive sense of self, confidence and leadership skills.
ACADEMIC AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT

We provide psychosocial and educational support for the most vulnerable and marginalized students to enhance their academic skills.
PROFESSIONAL MENTORSHIP AND NETWORKING

We provide community-centred programs and services to address the diverse challenges and needs of our communities. Our trained staff offers you career advice and hands on mentorship programs for vulnerable youth, newcomers, asylum seekers, and refugees to be successful in their schools, work, and lives.
